Tony Thompson 262 lbs beat David Price 247 lbs by TKO at 2:17 in round 2 of 12

  • Aired On: Wealth TV (Main Event)

A right hand to the side of the head sent undefeated David Price down in the second round and 41-year-old Tony Thompson won in what was likely the biggest upset to date in 2013.

The fight swung in an instant when a right hand during an exchange sent David Price down late in the second round. Price got to his feet on very wobbly legs and the referee waved an end to the bout.

Quotes

  • This is my last chance saloon, but I don’t have to say that. It is clear and the only way I can change that is to win. I started boxing as a club fighter, but I am not going to finish my career that way. The fire is still there because I find it hard coming to grips knowing that if I lose to Price I have to quit. To stay on this big stage, I have to beat big time boxers like Price." - Tony Thompson in the pre-fight build-up. [3]
  • In the post-fight interview Thompson said he wanted his next fight to be against Tyson Fury.
