'Kid Norfolk', born William Ward, was born in August 1896 in Norfolk, VA. He moved to Panama as a teenager, and adopted the name 'Kid Norfolk' after city of his birth. He retired in 1926 at age 29. He died on April 26, 1969 and is buried at Old St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx, section 21, range 18, grave 101 with his beloved wife Maria.
U.S. Passport Application #134287, dated October 29, 1919, states that Kid Norfolk resided in Panama from July 1915 until March 1916.
