	Little is known about Hadley's last days, but it is likely that he ventured back east towards Connecticut. The St. Paul Daily Globe, the newspaper of his residence during much of his career while living in Minnesota, did mention that he was dead in a 1903 article, but it was in passing while mentioning old boxers from the 1880's in the Twin Cities who were no longer alive, and no mention is made of just when, where, or how Hadley died.
