Maxie was on the retreat throughout the short match, but until his final fall managed to slash across numerous jarring punches. Manrico's crouching style puzzled Rosenbloom, who was caught off guard twice in the second round, going down once before a right overhand for a count of nine and again for three, the bell ending the round.
