Both had high and realistic hopes of winning the<br /> European lightweight title from Spaniard [[Pedro Carrasco]], Krogh<br /> even regaining it after losing the title to Carrasco one year ago.<br /> Maeki, known as a locomotive with relentless two- fisted attacks<br /> lived up to his reputation in the first 6 rounds. The problem<br /> for Maeki was that Krogh mastered this kind of fighting to the hilt. The Dane<br /> countered time and again as Maeki rushed forward, a left jab<br /> hit the Finn in the face like some mechanical device. In the 7th<br /> however the fight underwent a dramatical change: Krogh was suddenly no<br /> longer able to withstand the two fisted attacks from Maeki.<br /> He got a cut left eyebrow. Maeki even managed to increase the tempo<br /> and Krogh lost more and more of his control.<br /> The draw verdict was met with several minutes of booing<br /> and shouting and stamping of feets.<br /> Copenhagen newspaper &#039;&#039;Politiken&#039;&#039; speculated that Maeki didn&#039;t<br /> get the verdict because of his too frequent hitting with the inside of the<br /> gloves.</div>
