In the 5th round Fuller held Ross even and then the tide shifted as Fuller won rounds 6, 7 and 8. He blocked most of Ross' best punches and scored points in close. But Ross steadied in the 9th, held his own and came on to shade Fuller in the 10th. The fastest exchanges had few thrills and the crowd booed at the finish.
