The referee stepped in and stopped the scheduled 15 round bout after the American had absorbed a terrific beating. Jurich was knocked down several times in the early rounds but saved himself through clever footwork." -Associated Press

*The morning of the fight Benny Lynch weighed in at 118 1/2 - 6 1/2 pounds over the flyweight limit - while Jurich weighed in at 110 1/2.
