"Bob Foster floored veteran Eddie Cotton twice before knocking out the 40 year old veteran in 1:58 of the 3rd round of their scheduled 12 rounder last night. Foster came out with a flurry in the 1st round and after several combinations hit Cotton with an overhand left knocking him to the canvas where he took the mandatory eight-count. In the 2nd round both fighters played a primarily defensive game. But in the 3rd, Foster apparently felt he had the range on Cotton. He hit Cotton with a left and dropped him with a right to the head for the mandatory eight-count. As soon as Cotton arose from the canvas, Foster was on him again. Foster once more unleashed a flurry of punches before connecting with another hard left to the head which dropped Cotton for the ten count." -Associated Press<br />
