While at Auschwitz, Perez was forced to participate in boxing matches for the amusement of his Nazi guards. <br />
By 1945, Perez was only one of the 31 survivors of the original 1000. <br />
In March 1945 the Auschwitz Camp was being evacuated. <br />
Reportedly, Perez was shot and killed during the ensuing "Death March."<br />
