Italy's Bruno Visintin retained his European light- middleweight title when he defeated the Danish veteran Chris Christensen in the K.B. Hall at Copenhagen. French referee Charles Gondre stopped the bout in the eleventh round after Christiansen had been floored by a straight left. <br />

Visintin was handicapped when he got a deep cut on the forehead in the ninth round. But after inspection the referee allowed the fight to continue. In the tenth round the 38- year- old Dane opened up the cut again, but Visintin fought back and lost the round by only a small margin.<br />

The Italian started the eleventh round at a tremendous pace. With his injury worsening he chased the tired Dane round the ring, and after two minutes Christensen was caught by a left to the jaw.<br />

On tottering legs he managed to get on his feet at " eight " but Gondre immediately sent him back to his corner and raised Visintin's hand.<br />
<br />
4500 attended the bout which was rather dull until the ninth round.<br />
<br />
Visintin was superior for most of the fight both technincally and tactically. Christensen won only the tenth round and drew the first, eight and ninth, while the rest went to Visintin.</div>Tron
