Amaya dumped Carmona for the mandatory eight count in the 2nd round. However, from then on, Chango took more chances and traded punch for punch with Amaya. Starting with the 5th round, it was obvious that Carmona was taking charge. He scored with some good lefts and rights to the head. In the 7th round, Carmona started scoring at will and finally at the 1:47 mark of the 7th, the referee stopped the fight.
