He~~ was an excellent boxer who served as boxing coach at Cornell and Dartmouth in 1914-16 and in the Department of Physical Education at Dartmouth after retiring from the ring. ~~Jones saw a photograph of Prendergast/Shevlin being sworn in, in 1952, as Deputy Sheriff in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1952, and this photograph is reproduced in the RING article.~~		Shevlin was an excellent boxer who served as boxing coach at Cornell and Dartmouth in 1914-16, and in the Department of Physical Education at Dartmouth after retiring from the ring.
