The foul by Ortega in this bout was a blow below the belt. Hollandersky, in the account in his book, believed the blow may have been deliberate to more quickly end the fight, as by most accounts Hollandersky was winning the fight. Some research indicated Ortega was considerably older, in his mid to late 30's at the time of this fight, and may have lacked the stamina to put up a strong fight after so many rounds with Hollandersky who was around 25 at the time of the fight. In Hollandersky's book's account the blow was a kick, though no newspaper account has been found to verify this claim.
