The 33-year-old proved too strong for hi…&#039;</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>&lt;Fight&gt;1538952&lt;/Fight&gt;<br /> Samoa Observer report June 1, 2010&lt;br&gt;<br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;Mailata lands second round KO&#039;&#039;&#039;<br /> <br /> Seiaute Mailata is still the champion.<br /> The 33-year-old proved too strong for his opponent, Junior Pati, of New Zealand during the main event of the pro-Am fights on Monday night.<br /> <br /> The bouts, staged at Gym One, Faleata, were part of the Independence Day Celebrations.<br /> The events included amateur bouts, special bouts and the main event � the Samoa Heavyweight challenged. Mailata was far too good for his opponent. He scored a knock out in the second round which floored Pati. <br /> Spectators made a lot of noise during the first round but then they were silenced when Mailata landed the killer blow to Pati�s ribs.<br /> <br /> �This was such a tough fight,� said Mailata. �I could see in P<br /> ati�s eyes he was ready to go. He was avoiding me with his jabs.<br /> �I thank God he hasn�t left me alone in the ring. I�m so thankful for this victory.�<br /> <br /> Manager Tupa�i Tisiupu said Mailata won because he worked hard.<br /> �He�s been training so hard for this and I believe he was doing all his best in this fight for his country,� Tupa�i said.<br /> <br /> �I always challenged him everyday that we need to keep the Heavyweight Champion�s belt and he did it.�</div>
