	Under rated Bob Benoit, 170, Oakhan, MA, pumped his left hand into the face of Larry Carney, 172, Lowell, MA, to punch out a near shut-out ten round decision. Carney was willing and never gave up trying but Benoit proved too smooth and shifty for him. In the 5th and 9th, Carney put on an offensive but they were quickly smothered. Benoit mixed up his punches to keep the fight from becoming monotonous. He scored heavily to Carney's head in the 8th round when he threw punches from all angles.
