Canzoneri knocked down Wilson after a minute of fighting, with a right to the chin. Wilson took a nine-count, and Canzoneri appeared to allow him to recover for a moment, before he buckled his knees with a left hook to the chin. Wilson managed to clinch, but was soon met by an onslaught from Canzoneri. Canzoneri landed a left hook to the body and a right cross to the chin, that floored Wilson heavily. Wilson beat the count barely, but appeared helpless. Canzoneri appeared to appeal to the referee to stop the bout, which he did.

This bout was scheduled as a no-decision bout.
