Afrizal left the ring on his own power and appeared OK. Afrizal subsequently began vomiting one hour after the bout, hemmorrhaged, and was taken unconscious to Royal Hopital in Jakarta, later transferred to Christian University of Jakarta Hospital (UKI) in East Jakarta. Afrizal was engaged and was to have been married on April 15 following the bout.
