Transparenti gave Riley a boxing lesson in winning a close decision. Though the ''Kansas City Times'' didn't give the official breakout, they did state the combined scores of the referee and judges favored Transparenti 289 to 287. Transparenti was able to solve Riley's bobbing style after the first round, and was able to make Riley miss. Riley had the best of the toe-to-toe slugging, usually coming out on top when the action ended.
