Referee Benji Esteves stopped contest between rounds after Rios took a brutal beating for four rounds. Vazquez, a knockout power hitter, staggered the game but outmatched Rios with every head shot he threw. Not a close bout. Vazquez signed several times to go to Great Britain to fight WBA champion [[Scott Quigg]] but Quigg backed out.
