In any event, the chap who faced Arcelli was in no condition to box and the referee stopped the affair in the second round and it was ruled "no contest". No blame was attached to Areclli. The horse out of the barn, the Halifax Commission has started an investigation which, seemingly, will not bear very much fruit." Additional note: according to Michel Gladu, originally the referee stopped the fight and gave it to Arcelli on technical knockout; then after a few minutes it was changed to a win for Arcelli by disqualification. A few days later the Halifax Boxing Commission ruled that the fight was no contest in two rounds.
