This was a give-and-take match with Boardman gradually gaining the upper hand as the fight progressed. Boardman hurt Brady along the ropes in the 9th round, and eventually drove a floundering Brady to the canvas in his corner at the end of the round, with Brady rising at five. In the 10th, Boardman caught Brady along the ropes and had him helpless again, before he went down for an eight-count. Boardman hit Brady with two or three more punches after that, before the referee intervened.
