Almost everything went according to plan for Dana Rosenblatt on Friday night.

He got through his fight with Will McIntyre with no major lumps, no major bumps and no significant cuts or gashes.

And almost no opposition.

Rosenblatt (36-1-1, 23 knockouts) sailed to a unanimous 12-round decision over McIntyre (24-2, 10 KOs), easily winning the IBA Continental Americas super middleweight title at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Rosenblatt used a crisp right jab and solid straight lefts to win every round on all three judges' cards. Judges Melvin Lathan, Alan Rubenstein and Larry Hazzard Jr. all scored the fight, 120-108.

That was the only problem -- an almost complete lack of resistance by McIntyre.

"It's a disgrace," promoter Ron Katz said. "You can't blame Dana. I thought Dana looked sharp. It's a disgrace what Will McIntyre did. I hate to have to pay him $25,000."

Rosenblatt was looking for a good fight to prepare for a possible shot at one of the super middleweight titles. Katz said a shot at WBO champion Joe Calzaghe was a possibility.

"Dana wanted a tough fight," Katz said. "We're on the verge of a major fight. It was like trying to fight a prevent defense."

Rosenblatt earned $80,000.

"I just choked," McIntyre said. "I came out here and I gave it to him. I didn't do anything. I didn't fight. He just peppered me up and won an easy fight."

Rosenblatt didn't seem bothered.

"The pace was fine for me," Rosenblatt said. "I wanted to attack judiciously and not get hit and that's what I did. I come here to win."

For a change, the majority of the blood in the fight was donated by a Rosenblatt opponent. Rosenblatt had a small cut over his right eye, while McIntyre was sliced opened over his left ear in the 11th round.

There were no knockdowns, causing the near sellout crowd of 1,200 at the Fox Theatre to jeer and boo occasionally at McIntyre's reluctance to join the competition.
