All are charged with violating the Michigan boxing law. Floyd Fitzsimmons, who promoted the bout, said he would carry the case to the state supreme court. (..) McGoorty put Brown down for the count of eight near the opening of the fourth round. Brown was floored by an uppercut as he was pulling out of a clinch. Brown managed to get to his feet, however, before the gong sounded and for the remainder of the round fought in a groggy daze. It was McGoorty's fight although Brown took punishment gamely."
