Murphy was cut over both eyes by the 2nd round, but began to batter Angustain over the second half of the 2nd round. In the 3rd round, Murphy knocked Angustain down for a nine-count with an overhand left. Murphy knocked down Angustain for another nine-count at the start of the 4th round, but going in for the finish he landed a low blow that gave Angustain a two-minute recovery time. Near the end of the 4th round, Murphy floored Angustain again with a left hand, and the bout was stopped.
