	This fight was originally scored as a UD for Beattie. It was later changed to a NC by the state commission due to a protest by Askew about an alledged long count in the 1st. Later the Attorney General of Minnesota informed the MN Boxing Commission that they did not have the legal authority to do this, and the commission once again reinstated the UD verdict for Beattie. The alledged long count, was really no long count at all, as referee Denny Nelson acted appropriately and refused to continue his count over Beattie when Askew refused to return to a neutral corner after the second knockdown in the 1st round, thus the original decision in favor of Beattie was correct, and reinstated.
