New page

Freddie Lott, 161 1/2, Newark, NJ., scored an upset decision win over Jimmy Beau, 166 1/2, Canaan, in their eight rounder. After two rounds of feeing each other out on fairly even terms, Lott moved in to score with a solid right hand smash to the face in the third round. From then on the fighting was fierce and Lott held the upper-hand. The exchanges were most intense in the fourth heat where Beau let loose with a resounding attack to Lott's body. Lott retaliated with a power-laden right to the whiskers later in the round. Lott copped four of the rounds, Beau three, and one was declared even.
