Salt Lake City, Jan 1 (U.P.) Ernie Collins, Reno Nev Indian and Areade (“Windmill”) Pearce,<br />
Springville, Utah, fought to a bloody ten-round draw here Monday night in a boxing bout with<br />
Pearce’s Utah state heavyweight crown at stake.<br />

Eye Badly Cut<br />
<br />
: The fight was a slugging match from the first handshake to the final gong. Both men were<br />
down for long counts. Collins taking a nine-count just before the bell ended the third round<br />
and Pearce climbing off the canvas in the fifth. Pearce opened a cut over Collins eye early in<br />
the bout and the Reno Indian bled freely throughout the rest of the match. <br />
: Both fighters started fast, taking the aggressive by turns, and both were often in trouble.<br />
Flat on his back in the third round, Collins came back to hang Pearce over the ropes.<br />

Judges Differ<br />
: One judge voted for Pearce and one for Collins. The referee called the contest a draw.<br />
