According to a Jan. 31, 1950 ''New York Times'' article, Peter Montesi was a 40-year-old ex-fighter. ([[Pete Montes]]?) He operated at felt hat body shop at 32 West 39th St, New York. He was also a boxing promoter. He had lost an arm and a leg to a mortar shell in the Saar Basin, Germany, on Dec. 1, 1944--three months after joining the Fourth Armored Division. He had a wife and seven-year-old son. He lived in Danbury, CT, and commuted to NYC.
