LaBarba’s manager was the well-respected Los Angeles-based [[George Blake]], whom Pete Sanstol desired as his manager. LaBarba and Sanstol sparred and trained together for three weeks during this time in Paris.		Fidel LaBarba had been in Paris for a 12th of October 1929 bout with [[Kid Francis]].
