According to contemporary London newspapers Broughton beat Stevenson on April 24, 1744, in 8.5 minutes. A year later Stevenson had another reported bout, with Anthony Jones &#039;&#039;(source: The General Advertiser, 1745-04-09)&#039;&#039;.
