As part of the settlement, new boxing safety regulations in Kentucky were named the Greg Page Safety Initiative.		In the final seconds of the tenth round, Crowe hit Page on the jaw with a straight left. "He fell on me instead of backwards," Crowe said. "And I tried to push off for a little room just to punch...and that's when he went down." Referee Mike Cunningham ordered Crowe to a neutral corner and counted Page out as he lay slumped against the ropes.

			Page suffered severe brain damage. He slipped into a coma and had a stroke during post-fight brain surgery, which left him paralyzed on the left side of his body and confined to a wheelchair.

			Page died at his home in Louisville on April 27, 2009. "He had a hospital bed at home, and he slid out, which he has done before," said Jim Wesley, a Jefferson County deputy coroner. "His head was lodged between the rail and the bed itself." Wesley said Page's death was consistent with positional asphyxia, an inability to breathe because of body position.
