Johnson now has a 71-9 record. He was making his first start since dropping the light heavyweight championship to Willie Pastrano in a hotly disputed decision in Las Vegas last June 1. Hank lost his 19th bout. He has 55 victories and three draws. There was little activity throughout. Johnson hit better and more often. In no round was there any danger of a knockout. Johnson, a Philadelphia native, weighed 176; Hank 172. Johnson won the first five rounds, the seventh and the ninth. Hank took the 10th while the sixth and eighth rounds were even. Hank tried to fool Johnson several times by appearing to stagger, then roaring back. But Johnson had his defenses up. Hank's right eye puffed up in the eight and by the end of the fight was about half closed.
