Against Greb he was confused by the flying gloves, but against a man of his own weight and speed he would be formidable." This fight was decided by official decision. Referee Emerson W. DIckerson raised Greb's hand without waiting for the written slips of the judges. He later said that he was under the impression "that the bout ws to a referee's decision solely. It made no difference. Greb's marging was safe."
