"Chicago's Bobby Boyd and ringwise Holly Mims of Washington battled to a 10 round draw tonight. Boyd was floored for the mandatory 8-count in the 8th round. Mims, fighting for the first time since last April 19th, came on strong in the later rounds and was sharper with the few punches he landed. The veteran of 10 years of ring warfare frequently tied up the younger Boyd but couldn't find the companion of the hard right to the jaw that sent Boyd to the canvas midway in the 8th. Boyd started fast but his lefts and rights lacked authority and Mims drew blood to the Chicagoan's left eye in the 2nd round." -Associated Press<br />
