'''Rocky Casola''' was a highly touted Cuban heavyweight prospect in the Miami area in the late 1970s.

Casola stood under 5 feet 10 inches tall, but weighed in at over 220lbs. He reminded Florida fans of former heavyweight title contender, Two-Ton [[Tony Galento]], due to his flabby build and sledgehammer punch.

Casola had a brief amateur career in which he reportedly ran up an undefeated record of 6-0 (6 knockouts); all first round knockouts.

Casola turned pro in Key Biscayne, Florida with a devastating first round knockout over [[Dice Johnson]]. The Hispanic fans in South Florida were in an uproar about Casola and his punching power.

In his next fight, Rocky gave away 9 inches in height when he faced Austrian giant, [[Walter Stenier]]. Casola was briefly stunned by a looping left hook, but responded with a left hook of his own; sending the 6 feet 6 inch, 260 pound Steiner down and out in the first round.

A rematch was signed, and Casola again bombed out Steiner in the openning round. Veteran [[Bob Smith]] was brought in to test the unbeaten Casola, but Smith proved no test at all; being counted out in less then 2 minutes.

Casola's undefeated streak and career ended, when he lost a decision to club-fighter [[James Roper]]. Casola was knocked down twice in the first round, and was battered in the second. However, he came back to deck Roper in the 3rd, but lost the decision. Rocky Casola, the Pride of Miami, retired following his loss to Roper.
