	David Thomas began his boxing career at age 15 under the guidance of his father, former champion boxer and now gym owner (Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Boxing) and trainer, Danny Thomas and mother Delores Ricketts. He is a 2002 graduate of Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana.

	In 1998 he defeated Keon Johnson by a second round KO to win the Indiana Jr. Olympics. In 1999 he returned to win the title at 156 pounds. With the win Thomas progressed to the regionals and defeated Zapata Kemp, a three time national champion who was ranked #1 in the USA Junior Olympics. The next night he went on to defeat Roscoe Hill in only 15 seconds of the first round to become the “Great Lakes Champion” along with a 6th place ranking and high honors of “Most Outstanding Fighter” in the tournament. Thomas won the Novice Golden Gloves title the same year.

	In 2000 he won his first open title at 156 pounds by defeating three time champion Chris Neely with a first round KO to become Indiana’s Golden Boy. In 2001 Thomas again won the Golden Gloves at 156 pounds by defeating two time champion Adrian Helms in the first round. As he progressed to the finals he beat Travis Lovelace with a second round KO while being named “Outstanding Open Fighter”. In 2002 Thomas, no stranger to Golden Glove Titles defeated Merritt Warren with a 4 th round knockout.

	Thomas boxing career has him rubbing elbow with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. He was recently on the set for the Oscar Winning film “Million Dollar Baby” and trained closely with the films lead, Hillary Swank and professional female boxer Lucia Rijker. When introduced to Clint Eastwood Thomas didn’t recognize him.
