Cliff Smith was first granted a license to promote boxing in Trenton, NJ, in June, 1922.  Previously, Smith was a concessionaire at the Trenton Arena.  Smith was first approved to promote in the Grand Theatre in Trenton.  Effective October 23, 1922, Smith became the promoter at the Trenton Arena, per an agreement with the facility&amp;#039;s owner, Newton A. K. Bugbee.  In November, 1925, Bugbee replaced Smith as the Arena&amp;#039;s promoter with the duo of Danny Maher and Billy Keegan.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
