			The Induction Ceremony had originally been scheduled for September 15 but was postponed due to another important boxing event being scheduled for the same day. According to the Hall’s Director, Mike McNamara, “we had chosen the September 15th date some months ago and several month later we learned that the Canelo/GGG fight was later scheduled to take place on the same day. It created a conflict for most of our regular attendees so even though we hated to do it, we decided to postpone until April 13.

			The Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame is an outgrowth of the successful 15-year-old Illinois Martial Arts Hall of Fame. McNamara, an accomplished kickboxer, tournament fighter, and trainer of former ISKA World Cruiserweight Kickboxing Champion Rob Salazar, is Director of the Martial Arts Hall.

			According to McNamara “The Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame continues to try to recognize the very best contributors to the rich 150-year history of boxing in Illinois. The Illinois boxing scene continues to be vibrant.

			We expect more than 300 attendees this year,” said Co-Director Pete Hoffman. “It is always a great evening!”
