Renault rushed out of his corner to open the 9th round, and landed a stiff jab, followed by an overhand right to Fulton's jaw. Renault then landed a left uppercut to the stomach, that forced Fulton to clinch. Renault then hit him with a right hand to the jaw after they broke, forcing Fulton to desperately clinch. After they broke again, Renault landed another right hand to the jaw, and Fulton reeled away. Fulton was then sent sagging to the ropes with a right uppercut, before he could balance himself, he was finished by Renault with another right uppercut.
