"Unbeaten Jerry Quarry and veteran Tony Alongi - each convinced he's the other's master - expressed hopes today for a third meeting after battling to their second 10 round draw Friday night at the Sports Arena. Both Quarry, 192, Bellflower, and the rangy Alongi, 204, Paterson, NJ, thought they won the bruising rematch, although each had some grudging praise for his opponent. Quarry had to rally in the final two rounds to gain the draw after the taller Alongi had built up a lead with sharp left jabs to the head. The bout was bitterly contested with both fighters complaining to referee Tommy Hart that the other was hitting low and otherwise breaking the rules." -United Press International
