They met in the center of the ring and threw left bombs at each other and then the Briton snapped Lane's head back with a vicious right. Both men were very tired when they came out for the final round. Charnley rocked Lane with a right and left to the head and Lane had to hold on. Charnley shrugged him off and smashed a right to the face. Lane came back with a right to the side of Charnley's head and he scored with two rights to the body before the Londoner pushed him across the ring as the bell sounded. Referee Andrew Smyth of Belfast walked to Charnley's corner to signal victory for the Englishman.
