In an 8th rounder, Norwegian light welter Kristian Hoydahl outpointed Vasco Armstrong, a Nigerian boxing on a Spanish license. Armstrong was down for an 8 count in the 5th. He had his big moment already in the 1st when he shook the Norwegian, but failed to follow up. Both men were in excellent condition and held a high tempo through an entertaining fight.<br />

Armstrong was one of the many African fighters who took on too tough opponents too early. In his 27 fights before this (debut 1970), he had faced top contenders like [[Kid Tano]] and[[ Eddie]] [[Blay]]. He retired in 1975 with a 4-31-3 record.</div>Tron
