Leif Olve Dolonen Larsen, former star of American football club Buffalo Bills, won his first professional boxing fight on knock-out in Aaland on Saturday.

Dolonen Larsen, who competed as a pole vaulter before he moved to the U.S., defeated Slovakian fighter Ladisau Slezak on knock out in the 1st round.

A hard left hook after just two minutes sent the opponent crashing to the floor, leading the referee to hand Dolonen Larsen an early win.

"I sensed that he was afraid after a few early knocks, and I had him in my corner," Dolonen Larsen told the news agency NTB.

"My goal is to one day win a World Championship fight," he said.

Three years ago he was drafted to the NFL after impressing in the college football league.

In the same tournament in Aaland, light heavyweight boxer Thomas Hansvoll returned to the ring by defeating U.S. boxer Damien Reed on points.
