	On March 23, 1891, Bezenah was mortally shot by Arthur Chambers, alias "Kid Dugan", in Cincinnati, O. A colored woman named May Riley cast Chambers off several weeks prior, and one morning Chambers broke into her room and saw Bezenah and several other people there. He drew a pistol and twice shot Bezenah in the abdomen, and twice more at May Riley, grazing her head with one shot and injuring her arm with the other.
