The bout featured more punching and less science than any important scrap staged in Europe in years. During the slugging, Delannoit was floored four times. But on each occasion he jumped to his feet without a count, apparently unhurt. Cerdan remained on his feet throughout, but he was staggered several times by the sturdy Belgian's straight rights to the chin.
