	~~MARK MORAN is something of an enigma even to Liverpool's most dedicated fight fans, but the city boxer is planning for a happy home-coming this week.~~

	~~It's more than five years since the bantamweight last boxed in his home town - in a North West Counties Junior ABA final - and Moran is eager to make up for lost time.~~

	~~The Dingle southpaw (pictured) is one of the main attractions on Thursday night's quality 'Fight Skool' card at Everton Park Sports Centre, when he will make his professional debut.~~

	~~The 21-year-old, a bronze medallist at last summer's Commonwealth Games, said: "I've been looking forward to this night for the past six months or more.~~

	~~"I've not boxed in Liverpool for years, most of my mates have never even seen me box, so it will definitely be extra special for me."~~

	~~Back-to-back Junior ABA titles lifted Moran into the top spot for England at bantamweight which left the Scouser travelling all over Europe playing his trade, rather than boxing at home on club shows.~~

	~~But now he hopes to settle back in at home and keep busy in the paid ring in order to build up his professional experience.~~

	~~The former Golden Gloves ABC~~ boxer ~~teamed up with John Rice at the trainer's gym in Speke over the summer, and is full of praise for his new coach.~~

	~~He added: "I've learnt so much already since teaming up with John Rice and John Naylor and I am really enjoying my training.~~

	~~"The big difference from the amateurs to the pros is the strength work really. I've been lifting weights and working on my endurance.~~

	~~"I've also been focussing on planting my feet when I let my shots go, along with lots of head movement.~~

	~~"I feel I'm adjusting well. I feel strong and I'm happy with my work in the gym. Now I just want to recreate it in the ring on Thursday night."~~

	~~Estonian Sergei Tasimov has been mooted as Moran's first opponent, but a passport problem last night left that match under a cloud.~~

MARK MORAN is something of an enigma even to Liverpool's most dedicated fight fans, but the city boxer is planning for a happy home-coming this week.

It's more than five years since the bantamweight last boxed in his home town - in a North West Counties Junior ABA final - and Moran is eager to make up for lost time.
