"Bob Olin, stock broker who turned to fighting when the crash hit Wall Street, tonight won the world's light heavyweight championship when he outpointed Maxie Rosenbloom in 15 rounds at MSG. The decision handed down climaxed a night of absurd judging. The decision surprised Olin too, for the New Yorker, his face bleeding from half a dozen cuts, had retreated to his corner with the sound of the final bell, and was a picture of dejection as Announcer Joe Humphries circled about gathering the official slips. For most of the way, the fight was very dreary. Rosenbloom, as is his custom, fought only in fits and starts. One minute he was a whirling dervish, the next found him a bored man-about-town, clinching as often as possible. Olin never varied his plan of campaign. With the first bell, he waded determinedly out and threw punches, 99 of 100 which found no more vulnerable spot than Rosenbloom's elbows." -United Press
