Originally Baby Nansen was announced as the winner by Split Decision, however the supervising official approach Nansen team 10 minutes after the announcement and stated the scorecards were added up incorrectly and the result was actually a Split Decision Draw, stripping and changing the result immediately.

Mark Hampton who is the promoter of this event and also the trainer, manager and cornering Rebecca Jennings, was appointed as NZPBA Commissioner and Title Supervisor. Outside of Promoting and managing/training his boxers, he is a NZPBA judge, but while promoter and title supervising this bout, Hampton was cornering Jennings. There has also been reports that the original master sheet of the scorecards have gone missing.
