"Ruben Navarro danced and jabbed his way to a unanimous 10 round decision over Raul Rojas, the former featherweight champion Thursday night at the Olympic. Rojas opened quickly and drew blood from a nasty four-inch slice over Navarro's right eye. But the swifter Navarro pulled away and did some damage of his own. He completely shut Rojas' right eye in the 1st round and decked him momentarily in the 8th with a right uppercut. Navarro followed his pre-fight plan closely by stinging Rojas and then outboxing him using a six-inch reach advantage." -Pomona Progress-Bulletin
