	"Like countless other great Jewish boxing figures of the Golden Era, Sammy Aaronson was born in the lower East Side near the opening bell of the 20th century. He was a professional boxer, matchmaker, manager, and trainer before he became the brains behind Sammy Aaronson Boxing Enterprises. Along with Tommy Dio, he established that office in 1938 at 1674 Broadway in New York City. Although it was heralded for managing the largest stable of fighters in the world during the 1940s, relatively few fighters were under direct contract to Aaronson Enterprises. Aaronson was later known for his efforts to combat juvenile delinquency. He died in Los Angeles in 1974."
